Rat Landing SPB

Highlights

The first Mid-Atlantic Splash-in was a success!  We had around 20 people and 3 seaplanes come down to Rat Landing SPB on a hot June day.  Among our guests were seaplane pilots from the local area and well as landplane pilots and friends.  The seaplanes included our PA-12 floatplane, a Avid Flyer from N.C., and a Searey from Hopewell, VA.

We had a great cookout with fellowship which was followed by an informative seminar about propellers by Nat Ramsey of U.S. Propeller and Accessory.  Thanks to the SPA and Wipaire, everyone who attended received a door prize.  The seminar was followed by a friendly competition of water balloon drop.  The closest hit was 3 feet from the kayak.

In all, our small splash-in was a great start to the summer season.  We look forward to doubling our attendance next year and continue to expand and promote seaplane flying in our area.
